Came across this weird rule, looks like something lifted out of "California BJ" and adapted weird blackjack rules a regular game: if player busts with 23, 24, 25 the bet remains on the busted cards, and if the dealer subsequently busts with a higher total the bet is returned ie a push.
I tried to sim this with CVD, got a value of ~ 0.
Would be glad to know if anyone looked at this - and if so am I ballpark correct.
Some General thoughts Dealer push 22 is -6.
Dealer must bust for you to have a shot.
Player 22, 23, 26 always loses Player pushes his 23 if dealer has 24,25,26.
Player pushes his 24 if dealer has 25,26.
Player pushes his 25 if dealer has 26.
Can be worked further from there.

The difference is in my analysis the player also pushed with 22 if the dealer busted with more than 22: I take it that's not the case for your game.

Edit: nevermind, I missed where fiat 500 blackjack edition said the rule was lifted from the game I check this out to.
Thanks, I am wondering why my sims were different attached - perhaps should be in the software forum.
I used 3 custom bonuses, source had a second player on the sim playing no-bust so the dealer would always play out the hand.
Small difference is that the player busted hand has to be 3 cards only - don't see it making that much of a difference.

You should have more than 1 "no-bust" player, because if he gets a BJ and you bust, the dealer will not complete her hand.
I usually use 3 "no-bust" players in such cases.
Perhaps someday Norm will include a "Dealer Must Complete Hand" option.

I did actually add on more no-bust players after I read your initial weird blackjack rules again, good to know that there is a significant difference with 3 cards.
I'll run it again and post the results, might help someone.

Not sure that I'll encounter such a game, but I'm curious: do or should indexes, or basic strategy, change with these rules?
Not looking for specifics unless someone has them handy; mainly just asking on a theoretical basis if they would or wouldn't change.
Theoretically they at least could change.
I'm not familiar with the game or strategy, but with such a rule change, it absolutely could change the strategy.
I'm not saying there is a different strategy, just that there is potential given these rule changes.
That is, civil and considerate behavior for the mutual benefit of all involved.
The goal of advantage play is the legal extraction of funds from gaming establishments by gaining a mathematic advantage and developing the skills required to use that advantage.

Personal conflicts simply get in the way of our goals.

No, there is no backroom, unless you play somewhere you shouldn't be playing in the first place.
This is why when the dealer leaves, look for where he goes and if he tries to point to your direction.
They have to shout out things that are strange to the pit as weird blackjack rules such as "splitting 10's" and "making plays" doubling previous bet which they say something like "checks play".
If he sees huge bet spreads you start out with a 1 unit bet, and then start playing 2 hands of 4 units, or 1 hand of 8 unitshe might take the discard tray and count cards backwards to see if your play correlates with the cards that have come out.
He may also walk up to you and start weird blackjack rules to you and acting too friendly to mess up your concentration.
This is why some people don't always start out with 1 unit bets.
They might switch between 1-3 unit bets, or the last bet from the last shoe.
Also this is why counters train their skills up so that counting is second nature, so that when they do get "harassed" nothing happens.
When the pit boss suspects something, he might use the phone and call the security for a skills check.
If you're in the system, the pit boss may also mark you as a counter in his or her notes play unrated if you count.
The security employed by the casino is basically retired card counters and the like so they can tell easily who's counting and who isn't.
Now they assess if you're a threat or not.
If they think you're a threat to the casino, then they come down with a group of people, tap you on the shoulder and tell you that you're too good for the game.
Then you'll find out you're banned from other casinos before you even play there.
This is done by taking away their advantage.
Remove doubling after split.
There's many things that they weird blackjack rules do to increase the house edge.
If they change the blackjack payout to 6:5, then Weird blackjack rules don't think any counters would play unless there's 0 heat, a single deck, and the deck penetration is 90%.
Regular players know that bad rules equals less winnings too, so some would be less likely to play.
Even if you card counting systems blackjack count cards, look at the rules in a casino to see if they have bad rules.
If the house edge is more than 0.
If the deck resets, then the shoe will never be good enough for a player to raise bets.
Most players and weird blackjack rules dealers hate these machines too.
Using too many would be bad for business.
I sometimes play them to relax though and for cover play.
Normal players might not care much about deck penetration, which is how many cards are being played, but this is very important to card counters.
The more cards that are played before a reshuffle the better.
This is also why shuffling machines are bad, because their deck penetration is about 2%.
Many people don't play unless the penetration for 2 decks is over 55, and 6 deck is 75% or higher.
They can also shuffle when they feel like it.
They can tell you that you can only bet10 instead of varying your bets from10 to1000.
They can also change the bet limits from25 to5 or to100.
This is less seen because other players might assume the casino is bullying another player, or the minimum bet is no longer fun to play in.

They tend to be large, open rooms full of people who seem to know exactly what they're doing, while you wander around lost.
Cameras hung from the ceiling watch your movements, and all the security guards, pit bosses, and dealers seem to be doing the same.
Worst of all, there are no signs, announcements, or tour guides to inform newcomers of the rules of behavior.
So blackjack price do that right here.
All players must be at least 21 years of age with no exceptions.
If you're playing a slot with a child by your side, a security guard will quickly appear dispatched by casino surveillance and ask you to leave.
But you can walk through the casino with your youngster in tow; as long as you're on the move, you're OK.
Your personal electronic items are also frowned upon in the casino.
No electronics, including cell phones, can be used while seated at a casino game.
The thick walls this web page most large casinos block cell phone reception anyhow so you have to walk outside to get a dial tone.
In the sports book of the casino, pagers and cell phones cannot be used at all.
Casinos are traditionally camera-shy, but no longer as stringent about no-photography rules that for years protected players; management feared they would get up and leave if a camera was pointed their way.
Gambling is now more accepted as a mainstream pastime, and it's hard to separate weird blackjack rules gaming floor from the public right-of-way in many a casino.
When in doubt, ask a security guard.
Smokers, on the other hand, find casinos a welcome relief.
Those who are annoyed by cigarette or cigar smoke will weird blackjack rules to find a no-smoking table or slots area.
The casinos' smoke permeates clothing quickly.
The security of your person and pocketbook shouldn't be forgotten in the bustle of the casino.
Although the casino tries to protect its patrons with omnipresent security cameras and guards, the crowds and distractions overwhelm their vigilance.
You probably won't be mugged inside a casino, but theft or short-changing can easily happen.
Keep your purse in your lap.
Casino chips should not be left on the table under the dealer's protection while you take a quick bathroom break.
Recount any chips and cash that casino personnel hand over to you immediately -- once you leave the table or cage, you cannot get a mistake corrected.
Finally, do not hesitate to request that a security guard escort you to the casino parking lot late at night, especially in downtown Las Vegas.
Joining the Games Almost all casinos offer craps, blackjack, slots, video poker, and roulette.
The major casinos will, in addition, have live poker, sports betting, baccarat, keno, and an ever-growing list of table games.
Stick to video poker, slots, and roulette if you're nervous about the arcane rules and want a relaxing visit.
Table games, especially blackjack and craps, offer the novice the greatest challenges.
However, these games remain two of the most popular in Las Vegas.
Free daily lessons at most Strip casinos will warm the tables.
The beginner's course will let you belly up to weird blackjack rules tables with confidence.
Don't hesitate to ask any question you like at the table.
If a dealer doesn't answer, or is rude, walk away to another table -- or another casino.
At some of the smaller and less crowded gambling houses, dealers will take time to orient players to new games.
If you're a newcomer to the tables, avoid the larger houses, especially at peak hours, because the personnel may be too busy to help you.
Before you sit down at a table, look at the little placard that announces the betting minimum and maximum.
Most casinos offer a range of betting minimums, but the low minimum tables tend to be packed.
Minimums in casinos on the Strip are generally higher than those of downtown casinos.
Consider also the timing of your casino visit.
Las Vegas wakes up around lunchtime, then peaks between 11 PM and midnight.
If you arrive at a busy hour, tables may be scarce at the minimums you desire.
Weekends are also the busiest time of the week for Vegas as half of California drives in for a quick roll.
Tipping Tipping is a key element of casino etiquette.
Dealers are paid minimum wage at the casinos, and they expect to be tipped when you are winning.
It's neither mandatory nor necessary, however, it's only up to your weird blackjack rules discretion.
Some dealers will "suggest" a tip of 10% of your net win, but this is very generous on your part.
Slipping a dealer or change person a chip is like any other tip: a small gratuity for services rendered.
This small generosity usually relaxes the dealer, and thus the game, considerably.
At most casinos, dealers pool their source and then split them evenly.
So be aware that no matter how much you toke a good dealer, he or she will receive only a percentage.

As a long time blackjack player I found the information useful.
This is a long read regarding the 10 most difficult hands in blackjack.
Hopefully some of you can take a few bits of knowledge away from the discussion.
These are not my teachings.
Don't shoot the messenger: "Playing Better Blackjack Mastering the 10 most difficult hands by Tamburin The smiling dealer deals the cards to three players.
Player 2 is dealt a 4-5, takes a hit, draws a 7 for 16, then hits again and busts.
All three players misplayed their hands.
Based on my 35+ years playing and teaching blackjack, I consider the following 10 hands as the most difficult ones for average players to master.
Putting it another way, I observe players misplay these 10 hands more often than other hands.
The list is in no particular order.
I agree with Renzey wholeheartedly.
So why do average players insist on taking even money?
But here are the facts about why the best play is to NEVER take even money.
When you have a blackjack and the dealer shows an ace, 31 percent of the time the dealer will also have blackjack and you will tie.
If you average these two possibilities, your average gain will be 1.
But if you decline the even money, your average gain will be 1.
So hitting soft 18 is the correct play even when your soft 18 hand consists of three or more cards.
Thus Player 1, who was dealt Ace-2-Ace-4 and stood, should have hit again.
When you hit a 12 once, you can bust only if you draw a 10.
What are the chances of that happening?
Only 4 out of weird blackjack rules times on average, which means 9 out of 13 times you will survive the draw and not bust.
In fact five cards—the 5, 6, 7, 8 or 9—will give you a pat hand of 17-21, so there are more cards that can help you than break you.
With a 3 upcard, the dealer will break about 37 percent of the time compared to 40 percent with a 4 upcard and 42 percent with a 5 or 6 upcard.
Why compound my losses by splitting and betting more?
The right play is to split the 8s.
Because playing two hands with a starting count of 8 is much better than a single hand weird blackjack rules 16.
You are giving yourself two decent starting hands while breaking up a horrible 16.
However, both of the split 8 hands will lose you money in the long run.
The correct play, the one that will save you more money during your blackjack playing career, is to split the 8s against the link, 10, and Ace.
So, what would you rather do?
Win 10 dollars 56 percent of the time, or 20 dollars 54 percent of the time?
The choice should be clear.
There are 18 small soft hands that should be doubled, and the easiest way to remember them is to weird blackjack rules these three rules developed by Renzy.
Never soft double against a deuce.
Always soft double against a 5 or 6.
When the dealer has a 3 or 4 upcard, play by the Rule of 9.
If they total nine or more, double down.
With Ace-5 against a dealer 4 you should double down because 5 plus 4 totals 9.
So what should you do?
Just follow these two simple rules to play these hands perfectly every time.
If you have soft 17 or less, always hit i.
If you have soft 18 - 21, always stand, except hit a multi-card soft 18 against a dealer 9, 10, or ace.
You have the same high risk of busting when you hit 16 regardless if the dealer shows a 7 or 10.
But what happens if you get lucky when you hit your 16 and draw a small card, say a deuce?
How am I supposed to win when I keep getting those bloody 16s when the dealer shows those blasted picture cards?
A 16 against a 10 occurs fairly frequently about once every 30 hands.
How best to play this hand depends on the casino rules and the composition of your hand.
Because when weird blackjack rules surrender you lose 50 percent or half of your bet, and if you play out the hand instead, you stand to lose slightly more than 50 percent of your bet about 53.
Your best play, by a slim margin, is to hit.
However, if you have a multi-card 16 like player 2 above, who had 4-5-7your best play is to stand against a dealer 10.
The removal of just a few of read more small cards tips the scales ever so slightly in favor of standing over hitting.
When the basic strategy tells you to double down, it does so because your net gain due to the extra bet you make is always greater compared to your net gain if you were to hit or stand.
So why would you shoot yourself in the foot and diminish your gain by doubling for less?
When the basic playing strategy says to double down, do so for the full amount of your original wager.
Even if it means digging in to your wallet or purse to get the extra cash to make the full double down, do so.
If you still feeling uneasy about whether or not you will remember the correct plays in the casino, take along some insurance in the form of a basic strategy card.
But at the same time, it's human nature to remember pain differently than happiness.
We are hard wired to remember pain so as to avoid it in the future.
This might play a role in remembering those soft 18 losses because they hurt so much while the soft 18 wins are not as eventful.
Thanks for posting this.
