I would like to get a beginning player a subscription to a training site.
There seems to be a lot of options but not much distinguishing one from another.
She mostly plays in person but plays a little online.
Edit: I should say she isn't a total beginner.
She plays in rooms, usually hits money level in tournaments.
She's good but wants to up her game to the next level best poker training app reddit really get good.
She's been playing for years but really wants to get more serious.
Have her start with Upswing and if she sticks with poker eventually recommend she transition to run it once.
Hey Fresca, this is a great question that doesn't have an easy answer.
I do kinda like the idea of buying a "solver", as Vonmacguyver mentioned, but those are generally a best poker training app reddit more advanced.
I mainly mention learning style because I have found that, for me personally, most of the online training "courses" just aren't structured enough for me.
I much prefer books, more focused and structured courses, or more personal coaching.
This way you can get something for tournaments specifically, and then something for low-stakes cash games, or something specifically looking at live poker play.
Amazon has lots of choices, and there are probably some good threads here on for you to get more info.
There is a monthly fee, so this might be a little difficult to set up as a gift.
I'd be open to buy it a private lesson.
Is there a good platform for this?
She doesn't have a big catalog of online games to review.
She mostly plays on person.
Coaching is also something that takes time and effort - I wouldn't recommend surprising her with a gift that is going to require that amount of work.
It can also be a very personal preference for coaching.
Especially at this level, a decent low-stakes coach isn't going to be focusing on that level of poker mechanics.
Depends what she plays and how advanced her knowledge is.
I'd read a book or two first to get down basic concepts before going to training.
places to play online perspective I should say she isn't a total beginner.

You can download The Grinders Manual, a couple Harrington's, Miller, many others.
A good free start Really depends on the type of poker she is interested in.
I'd say for MTTs and RunItOnce for most everything else, unless she wants to play live cash in which best poker training app reddit Crush Live Poker seems cool.
I would buy a solver and watch YouTube videos or try to find somebody to teach you how to use it.
There is endless amount of work you can put in there.
Pio is certainly the best one, or at least one of the better programs.
I don't believe there are any free versions that give you what Pio has to offer.
The edit says she's making money in tourneys, she's clearly competent enough to start understanding GTO and how to then exploit.
I don't think it's ever to early to learn.
You can couple this with other learning material, but it certainly is the best learning tool out there.
No problem, I'm actually not an asshole, usually.
I'm best poker training app reddit to Reddit and didn't realize how fucking often posts are repeated.
I've seen them mentioned but when I googled a lot more came up.
Do any of these services come with hand reviews?
I have upswing and they have a load of content and examples for every concept as well as dozens of hours of "let's plays" to watch of 50-500nl.

Good friend from out of town is coming to visit me.
It's like a month away.
Any apps or computer programs that would teach basics and not be ridiculous like play money games?
WSOP App - there is a "hand strength" feature for beginners.
It's not real money but great for learning the game.
I am a winning player.
Been playing for years.
Have played millions of hands online, many thousands of hands live.
I just don't know anything about apps these days.
It's for this chick who is coming to see me and wants to best poker training app reddit play best poker training app reddit me at the casino.
I will try and teach her a bit when she gets here, but wondering if there's a place for her to start before she comes.
More chance of winning than playing a table game.
Not like I know where the best bets are there anyway.
I never go anywhere but the poker room.

Hello I'm looking for an app.
Ideally I'm looking for an app for iPhone that will let me play practice games so I can improve my skill.
Everything I can find is online or tries forcing you to buy Microtransactions.
Do any exist that meet this criteria?
I like big fish casino, tho I'm not sure how skilled the people on the app are.
There are very many people online at a given time though, so you'll never have trouble finding a table.
Plus they give you lots of free best poker training app reddit so you'll never run out, but you have to play well to get to the bigger tables which is probably best for practice not really good.
I have android though so not set for slot car beginners best if it's on iPhone.
It's also a micro transaction game, but they give you like 20k in chips to start and keep doing giveaways so you can definitely play free.
Through just playing the lowest stakes I've gotten up to 2.

I'm looking for a good offline poker trainer.
I've done searching but there's a lot of stuff out there and I don't know what's crap and what's not.
And could we add the best to the best poker training app reddit FAQ?
Governor of Poker has been my choice of training for tournament play: What I like is the opposition play is realistic, e.
Other games have players' faces, but this one doesn't, only their cowboy hats, so focus is entirely on the cards.
An interesting facet: minor "Monopoly" details have been blended in, whereby you purchase houses and casinos along the way with your winnings, which give you an income stream, and which allows you to buy transportation to the next bigger town with higher stakes.
You must buy all the houses in one town to get to the next level.
One suggestion: the end result is for you to play against the Governor of Texas and win, making you Governor.
How realistic is it?
I find myself cursing at the screen when another player makes a clever move to make me go all-in and lose.
This is a great game.
For tournament simulations, I haven't found a better piece of software than.
You can customize tournaments to match the blind structures of live tourneys you play most, set the style and mix of your opponents, adjust the field size to reflect the typical number of runners, and set the buy in so you can see over multiple trials how profitable you are.
It has an online setting too but that's mostly garbage: This software's value is mainly in testing your strategies in an approximate NLHE tourney environment.
A question: For non-HE games, who here has some sort of opinion on the Wilson sim software for Omaha + Stud?
I have it but hadn't used it in a while + it's sitting in my home somewhere.
PokerTracker and HEM are, in their own rights, some of the best training software offline available.
However, you have to play hands so you can review them.
If you have hands, building reports to find leaks can be one of the best ways to improve you game.
I won't make the contention that building the reports correctly is easy, but there's online resources for this.
PokerTracker and HEM are not pieces of training software.
They are data aggregators whose information you can use to train, but in themselves they don't assist with actually training you.
The OP is asking for training software, for something more interactive than a compilation resource.
By your definition a book about poker or a notebook logging wins and losses would be a training tool.
That's probably too broad and basic for what the OP is asking for.
Well, PT4 also has a built in ICM training tool.
But honestly, if the best poker training app reddit is to answer OP's question helpfully, I think g3orgeLuc4s is right on target.
OP may think he wants some sort of offline training tool that runs him through practice scenarios, but those sorts of tools are borderline useless - as far as I know no one's made a really good one.
Meanwhile, time spent reviewing hands is the best offline training technique I know of.
By any reasonable definition HEM and PT are tools you can use offline to train poker, and the training you can do with them is way more useful than anything else out there.
You seem to have either a bizarrely narrow definition of 'training' or of 'tool.
The existence of these tools, however, are common knowledge and readily available.
For the OP to have asked this question is to imply they want something more interactive and practice-oriented than mere stat accumulation and analysis software.
Notice the OP specifically asked for 'offline' tools.
This implies they are aware of the online HEM style stat software and are looking for something to practice with.
It looks like you and other misread the OP's request.
That's still just a resource for compiled data reference.
You're not practicing anything through using it.
Don't get me wrong: This sort of product has considerable utility.
But the OP appears to be looking for something different.
But you are training.
LeakTracker merely points out best poker training app reddit your leaks are.
It doesn't "train" you to plug them.
If Well, in a casino what game has the best odds something couldn't jump high enough to dunk a basketball, I might "train" by doing some kind of jumping exercises so I could build up my jumping height.
Having some software tracking my jumps and telling me "you don't jump high enough" is not training.
The insta poker app on iphone I thought was pretty cool actually.
I've only played the free hands though, read article purchased any packs.
ITT: People who don't know how poker training software is different from poker stat tracking analysis software.
Poker Multi-Gym is pretty solid.
It's on Android not sure about iOS.
Also, probably not what you are looking for, but this web app: was posted a few days ago and it's pretty good from the tutorial; more or less the same thing as Poker Multi-Gym.
Everything is too expensive, just buy a book.
What I saw of it was not worth that, but if they improve it I might recommend.
Will take that out.
https://ipodxs.com/best/best-gambling-website-canada.html I have seen of the site is the same as the app.
It's good for drilling poker math if you're already very proficient.
As in, if best poker training app reddit often in situations where it makes a difference if you have 17% equity vs 21% equity.
And it's nothing that can't be done for free with just a spreadsheet or something.

Reddit read more poker - what are the best poker training sites?
The teachers brought a ton of math and jargon and toy games into all their instruction, but it went over my head.
On top of that their wasn't a lot direction for which videos to best poker training app reddit first, or what to watch for your level of experience.
I could see it being very helpful for an expert or even intermediate player, but I'm still new to many concepts.
Honestly, I'm not even trying to be a rockstar visit web page 1st place at some 1,000 MTT tourney.
And that's good enough for now.
I'm just trying to buy some freedom guys.
Any thoughts or opinions on Doug Polk's upswing poker?
What about Splitsuit's training program?
I see some other's here on google like Dueces cracked and Daniel Negreanu's masterclass, but I'm not sure if they are any good or as popular.
The sites are tough and with the rake, learn more here many make money.
Dude, its hard enough to beat the rake.
You will probably need to best poker training app reddit with 1 g a day to get a roi of average 50 a day, assuming you best poker training app reddit good enough to beat the players at that stage.
What I would like to do is get some training and work my way up to that point.
Just curious what buyin winning players are at these days?
There are winning players over all best poker training app reddit and different games.
But these players have put in millions of hands or thousands of tournaments.
I have seen people with 10k tourneys played still being even players at 3 sng because in long term, its so difficult to beat the rake.
Training isn't the most important part imo.
You will have fun and its best way to learn.
Training videos aren't helpful if you havent put in the time.
There is no stake where only winning players are because for someone to win, you need more losers as obviousally 5% or higher is rake.
Its going to be a long process where you are going to only start winning after thousands of hands etc.
Only the truly elite would start winning right away, best poker training app reddit there not the ones that need to watch videos.
Go play for fun and what you could afford to lose.
Trust me it isn't easy, if it was, there would be alot more winning players which there aren't.
I appreciate how indepth RIO is, but like I said, wayyy over my head.
Redchip Poker has a square one course called Core that is really good and well priced.
Most poker players such as myself starting out losing money.
Honestly 5-10 seems like a pretty lofty goal.
Thank you for the good feed back!
Do you know where a good place to start is?
As far as free content goes?
But those are the only decent free content producers I know of.
Splitsuit is good, lots of hand reviews.
However you were source about the math of the game going over your head, and some of those videos may do that.
Try not to just watch those videos, pay attention to everything and make sure you understand everything being told.
There is tons of information out there, you just have to retain it.
Take everything you learn to the tables asap, and use everything you learn.
Start at micro stakes and move up as your bankroll progresses.
Keep grinding and learning.
Also, what speed e.
I like normal speed full ring.
Occasionally I play turbo.
But almost always normal speed with 10 minute blinds Currently can only handle one table at a time.
And since I play the triple up variety top 3 pays out the sameit takes about 1 hour - 1 hour 15 min to finish in the money.
Less if I bust early.
This is in my current state though.
I understand I am still a pretty poor player now, but I'm looking to change that with some proper direction.
But trying to keep my expectations realistic.
Absolutely unattainable for even the very best sit n go players in the world.
And that's only if you're crushing them.
But that was at a rate I thought I could work my way up to, like playing 10 per day and topping out 50% of the time.
Which, after reading these responses, seems to be unrealistic, even with training.
I really prefer online sit and go tournaments 6-9 player single table tourneys.
That's what I'm on the most these days.
But I'm open to playing cash games and I have access to a casino for live play.
I realize though that finding instruction for sit and go's is difficult so I'm keeping an link mind to whatever is available.
Maybe try Raise your Edge 6Max Hyper SnG course.
As soon as you have grasped the fundamentals move straight into live poker; This is how you make the most money with the least investment possible.
In terms of training products this will probably be recommended by most people you can't go wrong with 'The Grinder's Manual'.
Especially if content from the RIO course is going over your head.
Thanks for the positive advice.
The grinders manual has already been mentioned once, so I'll def look into it.
No but you can look into two plus two they have a coaching section.
When I wanted a coach I did my own research and found someone but 300 will not get you enough sadly with that guy I made a big contribution to my education for that one lol.
I have been considering buying an Upswing Course, but they are expensive.
Are they worth the price for a micro stakes player?
