Troubleshooting Your iPod
Here we will show you how to troubleshoot your iPod. This is a guide that will teach you how to troubleshoot your iPod incase you run into problems with it. These trouble shooting methods generic for all iPods except the iTouch and iPhone which most common fix is to restore it.
Your iPod shut off and wont restart
This may mean that your iPod needs a simple reset to do this:
1) Plug your iPod into the computer
2) Toggle the hold switch on the iPod about 7 times and leave it in the off position after
3) Lay it on a flat surface such as a desk
4) Press the menu and select buttons and hold until the apple logo appears
5) If a message saying your iPod battery is extremly low leave the iPod as is, it may stay on this screen for up to half and hour
How to restore your iPod to factory settings
You must plug your iPod into your computer, let iTunes start up and recognize your iPod to do this
1) Click on the summary tab in iTunes on the iPod source panel
2) Press the button saying restore
3) If asked are you sure you want to restore click yes
4) Wait for the iPod to finish
5) Re-sync your iPod to put the music back on it
Your iPod shows up in Windows but not in iTunes
